HYDERABAD: Condition of three junior school teachers, Naeem Noorani, Rabia Qadir and Irshad Leghari, deteriorated o Friday and they were given medical aid at the hunger strikers’ camp outside the pres club as their strike unto death entered fourth day.
Noorani and Leghari refused to go to the hospital while Mrs Rabia Qadir was shifted to civil hospital for proper medication.
The teachers under the aegis of Teachers Action Forum have been on the strike in protest against non-payment of salary for past eight months.
They said that they were appointed after completion of all formalities.
The forum’s chairman Naeem Noorani and office-bearers criticised the government’s apathy and said that the government had broken all past records of subjecting teachers to insults.
They said that issuance of termination letters proved mala fide intentions because appointments on the basis of influence and bribe continued unabated.
They alleged that bills of millions of rupees in the name of ghost schools and teachers were being prepared and appealed to the president to take notice of their plight and ensure release of salary.
